Our Story
Our journey began just before COVID hit and has been an adventure filled with hikes, bikes, and the occasional picnic. After a few years of dating and realizing we still liked each other, we got married in a small courthouse ceremony. Which, to us, was perfect. We have an adorable cat, Monkey, who gets a lot of love and affection. Overall, we're ready to start the next chapter of our lives and start a family!
Our Home
We live in New York City, in upper Manhattan. We're a quick train ride away from the hustle and bustle, but our apartment is calm and quiet. Two blocks away is a family park with playgrounds and room to run around. And we're a mile from Central Park for even more urban exploring! We lucked out with our open, sunny apartment with 3 bedrooms and a backyard to reinforce nature in our daily lives.
Our Hope
We are eager for a child to love - of any gender, race, or background. We hope to instill a love of nature, an adventurous spirit, and curiosity in a child. We hope to be open, honest and supportive - with a little nudge to push his or her boundaries every now and again. And most importantly, we hope to create positive relationships with the birth parent(s) to hopefully continue beyond the adoption.
About Us
We are a goofy, active couple. We both have stable jobs; Marcie works as a highway engineer on infrastructure projects and Ali is a scientist who studies hearing loss. Outside of work we love to spend our time with friends and family - probably over a good meal that's cooked or grilled outside. We both love living in the city as much as we love exploring beyond it on the weekends.
We're excited about the opportunity to start a family and share our love with a future child. We're committed to each other and our pursuit of adoption and we hope you'll get to know us better!
